The Animated Series' Showrunner Is Aware of Your Second Season Predictions — With Some Positive Updates

The much-anticipated Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel debuts on the streaming platform soon, and audience theories has been rampant.

Season 1 presents a large cast of characters residing in Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds with musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and establishes heated competitions and emotional bonds that fuel audience devotion.

The community's expectations for season 2 vary widely, but certain themes recur frequently: Will Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Obviously, I don't produce the show with fan service as the main goal," the showrunner commented recently. "But I feel like me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She reveals her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by the production companies, which produce the series.

That might mean fans have to wait years for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how quickly the new season moves, and how many of what they're anticipating unfolds this season.

"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we get some really amazing reveals, some really cool origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about season 2 — especially in the form of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a few fans make a bingo card about the new season," she mentions. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've actually done a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
